Assembling with a Logix5000 PLC

Requirements

  • Allen-Bradley Edition or Ultimate Edition
  • Compatible CompactLogix PLC with Ethernet connection
  • RSLogix 5000

Assembling with a CompactLogix.zip

This sample provides a RSLogix project ready to download to the PLC and control the Assembler scene.

  1. Download the zip archive (top of this page), extract it and open the project in RSLogix 5000.

  2. Edit the project to match your controller's hardware. Start by Double Left-clicking the controller under Ethernet on the left panel. Press Change Controller... and choose the controller type you will be using from the drop-down list.

  3. Select Communications > Download to send the new program to the PLC.

  4. Start Factory I/O, press Ctrl+O, select Scenes on the left panel and open the Assembler scene.

  5. Press F4 to open the Driver window. Select Allen-Bradley Logix5000 from the driver drop-down list.

  6. Click on CONFIGURATION and insert the controller's IP address in the Host field.

  7. Press Esc to return to the Driver Window. Now click on CONNECT to connect to the PLC.

  8. Finally, switch to Run mode.
